If you know your prep culture, you know about Nantucket Reds. I’m no expert, but I am definitely a fan!
In case you haven’t heard of (or seen) them, they are the originally-red-but-fades-into-pink, cotton canvas pants (now you can get other garments, too) that just scream “true prep”. They work like this: the more you wear and wash them, but better they become.
I love love LOVE stories about where particular fashions come from, preppy or otherwise. I like this one because Nantucket Reds started in a single, charming little shop in Nantucket, Murray’s Toggery Shop. Check out the video they produced below to learn a little more about their history.
Do you have a pair of Nantucket Reds? I own a pair of shorts (not from the Toggary Shop, sadly), and I love them. They are a great way to add some color into your wardrobe, and you really can pair them with just about anything – a white oxford, blue blazer, or cute fitted v-neck. Gotta love ‘em!

Welcome to my little corner of the world! I'm so happy that you stopped by. I'm Katie, lover of pretty (and crafty) things, chasing dreams, and being nice.
