Fun side note: I met Kate Spade’s brother-in-law on an airplane heading from SD to KC. He was telling me about his sister-in-law who had this handbag business and I asked for her name and the name of her business was, and he responded “Oh I don’t know if you’d know her. Kate Spade is her name.” My eyes about popped out of my head. I was like, “Um, YEAH I’ve heard of her! I don’t think there is a girl in the US that hasn’t!” Another, even cooler side note: Ms. Spade is a Kansas City girl, born and raised! And even though she went to school in Kansas, she still has my respect.

Her brother-in-law is also David Spade, which means you were talking to Bryan Spade? There are three Spade bros (she’s married to Andy). Funny he would mention Kate Spade but not his famous brother, David. Cute story nonetheless!
