About

Hi there and welcome to LiveOriginally! I’m Katie – tea-loving, fabric-hoarding midwest native and Kansas City resident. Nice to meet ya’!

A few years ago, I started a blog as an experiment and learning exercise with my then-boyfriend, now-husband. We agreed that he’d work on the back end “stuff” (he worked in internet marketing at the time) if I provided the content. I was BIG into weddings at the time (ok, let’s be honest – I was obsessed) so I agreed in a heartbeat! It was such an awesome experience – the people I met, the things I learned – truly wonderful!

After moving to San Diego and getting out of the wedding scene, I took a nice long break from blogging. I was recently married, had a marketing job in the health food industry that I enjoyed (and for which I will forever be thankful), and loved living it up in the sunny, absolutely perfect weather that is San Diego!

When it was time for a job change, I found my way to a fabric manufacturer. When I saw the job posting, I thought it was way too good to be true, but I thought hey, why not give it a shot? A couple calls and one grueling interview process later (juuust kidding), I had landed my DREAM JOB! I’ve been with the company nearly two years – though now I work a few states away in what I like to call the “satellite office” – and I adore every second of it (except those few weeks before Quilt Market when I magically turn into a CRAZY PERSON)! I get to work with THE best people, both inside and outside of the company, and I am so thankful to get to do what I love both on and off the clock!

I am constantly inspired by the things that I see through my work and my interactions with people in the AWESOMENESS that is the quilting industry. I want to be even more plugged in, so here I am! Back at blogging, sharing projects and finds, and hopefully, connecting with YOU – fellow creative souls.
